Tri Village RCers

Greetings to All,

Sunday Dec.8th was the combined 33rd Tri-Village Rcer’s and Northwest RC club’s annual food drive and chili penguin fun fly. It was a great day, the best weather we have had in many years.

Give a big thanks to Bob Larsen (a.k.a. Mr. Vice President) and Ken Meyers (Tweaker, a.k.a. Mr. President) for providing great chili with all the fixings. From what I heard and tasted, both were great, though Chuck Blaise seemed too really really like Tweaker’s. Susan and I provided the hot chocolate. Let me know if you would like coffee perhaps I could bring a Keurig next year. Also a big thank you to all that helped setting and teardown the event. I learned and saw some amazing knots being tied while they engineered the supports for the walls.

It has been another rough year economically for many families as the cost of everything keeps rising. Both Hanover and Schaumburg Townships are extremely thankful for your support. They stated that this year has been challenging. The dry goods were delivered on Tuesday 12/10/2024 to Schaumburg Township’s food pantry (We alternate dry goods each year between Schaumburg and Hanover.) It was Schaumburg’s turn this year. The monetary donations were also delivered on Tuesday 12/10/2024 to both Schaumburg and Hanover Township food pantries.

Your monetary donations this year of $2090.00 were split ($1045.00 each) between the pantries, great job!!!. ($1215.00 each last year). Both Frank Del Guidice and Dave Harvey reached out on Monday the 9th with their generous donations. The pantries buy meat and produce from Co-Ops which offer great prices which can go a long-long way to in supporting more families. Note: We were able to get the Dubuque 5lb. canned hams for $8.50 to $10.50 each, currently they are in excess of $20.00 each. This and supply chain issues is why we began donating our monetary funds to the pantries.

I am extremely proud to serve as your Food Drive committee leader. This is my 19th year of running this event and each year you continue to make it easier and better. I hope this warms your hearts, the pantries and all the needy families that benefit from your gifts truly thank each and every one.
